The mission of the Tulane University Law Library is to support the research and curricular needs of its faculty and students by providing an outstanding collection of print and electronic legal materials and by offering the highest possible level of service. To the extent possible, the Tulane Law Library also supports the research needs of the greater community as well as scholars from outside the Tulane community.

Tulane Law School is nestled amongst beautiful live oak trees and is within walking distance of the Audubon Park and Zoo in uptown New Orleans. The Law Library is located on floors three through six of Weinmann Hall. The collection of more than 684,000 volumes and volume equivalents includes standard Anglo-American legal materials and substantial collections of foreign, international, and comparative law. The Law Library's collection is especially rich in civil law material and houses one of the finest collections on maritime and admiralty law in the world. With $1,248,279 spent on library materials in 2015, the library offers 553 inside seats, seven full-time librarians and is open an average of 113 hours per week. 293 wired connections are available to students as well as 98 networked computers and a wireless computer network (personal computers are not required.)

The Law Library is also home to the world-renowned Judge John Minor Wisdom Collection containing his judicial papers and personal library accumulated during his forty years on the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Students, faculty and scholars from all over the world come to the Law Library and the Wisdom Collection to conduct research and engage in legal scholarship. Additionally, the Law Library contains a large US government documents collection.
